SAMBUCA DI SICILIA

This DOC was recognized in 1995, called as the town in the area of Agrigento. The vineyards are at an altitude of over 200 meters, provide the grapes for the production of Sambuca Doc in the following categories: White, Red, Red Reserve, Rosé, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

White is obtained from grapes of Inzolia, at least 50%, and those of other non-aromatic white grape varieties in the area, and has a straw yellow color more or less intense, sometimes with greenish reflections; delicate, fine, intense and characteristic smell; the taste is dry, delicate and fresh.

 

The grapes used For the Sambuca di Sicilia Passito are Inzolia, at least 50%, and possibly Grillo and Sauvignon, left to dry in appropriate locations, its color varies from golden to amber; characteristic, pleasant and intense smell; round and harmonious flavor, from dry to sweet.

 

The Red Sambuca of Sicily, Red Reserve and Rosé are obtained from grapes of Nero d'Avola, minimum 50-75%, together with those of Nerello mascalese, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, in a percentage between 25 to 50%. The first wine has a ruby red color; vinous, distinctive and intense small, dry, full-bodied and velvety taste. The second wine has a ruby red color with garnet; ethereal, intense and fine smell; dry, full-bodied and velvety taste. Finally, the third type has a pinkish color more or less intense; characteristic and intense smell; dry, fragrant and velvety taste.
