MENFI DOC

The Menfi D.o.c. is a wine produced in the territory of the town of Menfi, Sambuca di Sicilia and Sciacca, in the area of Agrigento and of Castelvetrano in the area of Trapani. A DOC that was born after a long research work in the area and a study performed in collaboration with universities.

 

The Menfi Doc is available in White, Red, Red Reserve, Chardonnay, Grecanico, Inzolia or Ansonica, Late Harvest, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Nero d'Avola, Sangiovese, Syrah, Feudo dei Fiori, Bonera and Bonera Reserve.

 

The Menfi Bianco is made from grapes Inzolia, Grecanico, Chardonnay, in a minimum percentage of 75%, plus the possible addition of other local white grapes, non-aromatic, up to 25%. The Menfi Red is obtained from grapes of Nero d'Avola, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, 70% minimum, plus the possible addition of other local red grapes, maximum 30%.

 

The Menfi Feudo dei Fiori D.o.c. is exclusively produced in the vineyards of the ex Feud of Flowers, in the town of Menfi; obtained from Chardonnay and Inzolia, in a minimum percentage of 80%, which can be added to those of other white grapes varieties allowed in the area of Agrigento. 

The Menfi Bonera is a wine produced exclusively in the district of Bonera, in the town of Menfi. The grapes used are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Nero d'Avola, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah, 85% minimum. 

Finally, the Memphis Late Harvest is made from Chardonnay grapes, Cataratto glossy white, Inzolia and Sauvignon.

 

The main features of the white wines are intense aromas, freshness and softness in many cases in addition to a beautiful color straw yellow to golden. For red wines, aromatic intensity with hints of spice.
