DOC WINES

Sicily is characterized by many areas of production different in culture, characteristics of the soil and climatic conditions. Experience of Sicily, with itineraries dedicated to Sicilian wines, will take visitors to discover the diversity of the territories and the people.

ALCAMO D.O.C.

The Alcamo D.O.C. is known especially for the "Bianco d'Alcamo." Its area of production falls in some of the areas of Trapani and Palermo, and includes the territory of Alcamo, Calatafimi-Segesta, Castellammare del Golfo, Gibellina, Balestrate, Camporeale, Partinico, Monreale, San Cipirello and San Giuseppe Jato.

CONTEA DI SCLAFANI D.O.C.

The Contea Sclafani D.O.C. is produced in the territory comprehending the eleven towns of the area of Palermo, including Sclafani Bagni, in the entire territory of the towns of Vallelunga Pratameno and Villalba, in the area of Caltanissetta, and partly of Cammarata, in the area of Agrigento.

CONTESSA ENTELLINA D.O.C.

The Contessa Entellina D.O.C. is produced in the territory comprehending the town of Contessa Entellina, in the area of Palermo, from which it gets its common name, which is also the exclusive area of production of this D.o.c.

DELIA NIVOLELLI D.O.C.

The Delia Nivolelli D.O.C. is produced in the territory of the towns of Mazara del Vallo, where flow the Delia, Marsala, Salemi and Petrosino, in the area of Trapani.

ERICE D.O.C.

The last D.O.C. arrived in the area of Trapani, in 2004, is the one of Erice. The area of production covers the territory on the slopes of Mount Erice, the warm and dry climate for most of the year, an altitude between 200 and 650 meters which guarantees excellent exposure and ventilation of sea breezes at the vineyards and the high temperature range that qualifies character and aromas to the wine.

MONREALE D.O.C.

The D.O.C. Monreale was founded in 2000, covers an area particularly suited to quality viticulture, which includes, in the area of Palermo, the towns of Monreale, Camporeale, Corleone, Roccamena, San Cipirello, San Giuseppe Jato, Santa Cristina Gela and Piana degli Albanesi, for a total of approximately 12,000 hectares.

MARSALA D.O.C.

The DOC Marsala is a liqueur wine, is produced in Sicily, in the area of Trapani, except for the towns of Pantelleria, Favignana and Alcamo.

MENFI D.O.C.

The Menfi D.o.c. is a wine produced in the territory of the town of Menfi, Sambuca di Sicilia and Sciacca, in the area of Agrigento and of Castelvetrano in the area of Trapani.

PASSITO DI PANTELLERIA D.O.C.

The Wine of Pantelleria is exclusively produced in the homonymous island, which lies in the Sicilian area of Trapani. Not only the grapes must be produced in Pantelleria, but in the island also have to be carried out all the operations of the vinification, including the drying of the grapes.

SALAPARUTA D.O.C.

The DOC wines Salaparuta was recognized in 2006, the production is allowed only from grapes coming from vineyards located in the town of Salaparuta, in the area of Trapani.

SAMBUCA DI SICILIA D.O.C.

This DOC was recognized in 1995, called as the town in the area of Agrigento. The vineyards are at an altitude of over 200 meters, provide the grapes for the production of Sambuca Doc in the following categories: White, Red, Red Reserve, Rosé, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

SANTA MARGHERITA DI BELICE D.O.C.

Santa Margherita di Belice is a D.O.C. established in 1996. It includes wines produced in the towns of Santa Margherita di Belice, and Montevago in the area of Agrigento.

SCIACCA D.O.C.

The Sciacca D.O.C. is produced throughout the homonymous town and Caltabellotta, both in the area of Agrigento, obtained through a clever combination of grapes from native vines, such as Inzolia, Cataratto, Grecanico, Nero d'Avola and those of international varieties such as Chardonnay , Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese.
